Notice of strike – snuff deficiency threatens
The Food Workers’ Union has notified a strike at SMD Logistics, which delivers most of all snuff and all tobacco to stores in Sweden. The reason is that the company signed a collective agreement with Swedish trade.
“This is an attempt at pure contract shopping and nothing else. The employer simply wants a cheaper agreement that deteriorates for our members,” says Jolan Wennberg, second chairman at Livs in a press release.
The notification comes into force on April 1 and affects about 150 food workers.
It is withdrawn if SMD Logistics signs suspension agreements with life or again become a member of the food companies.

New York Down – Tesla recalls Cybertrucks
After yesterday’s rise in connection with the interest rate announcement from the Federal Reserve, it is all the more gloomy in the initial trade on Wall Street. The New York Stock Exchange initially backs, the S&P 500 index is down 0.7 percent, Nasdaq’s composite index falls 0.9 percent while the Dow Jones industrial index in turn drops 0.6 percent.
Among the shares that backs are the electric car surgeon Tesla, which drops 1 percent after the announcement that the company will revoke 46,000 copies of its model Cybertruck, basically all vehicles manufactured so far for the US market.
This is due to problems with a decorative list that risks loosening from the car.
However, the company makes the assessment that it is only one percent of the cars that pose a risk.

Belly climate criticism for the government

Belly climate criticism for the government
It is in a hurry if the climate goals are to be reached, is the Climate Policy Council’s message to the government. The fastest way to lower emissions is tightened reduction obligation and higher fuel tax.
The conclusion of the Council’s review is that the government’s current climate policy is not enough to reach Sweden’s climate goals and the EU commitments.
The long -term goal is for Sweden to have zero net emissions of greenhouse gases in 2045.
“The gap remains significant, but it is positive that it has gradually shrunk in recent years,” says Åsa Persson, chair of the Council.
Although some decisions in 2024 go in the right direction, it is not enough to outweigh earlier decisions that have helped to increase emissions – especially significantly reduced reduction obligations and reduced tax on gasoline and diesel.
Now the reduction obligation has been raised slightly, but that is not enough, the Council believes.
The government’s own forecasts are considered to be too optimistic and without security margins.

The EU is postponing customs on bourbon
The European Commission is postponing the introduction of 50 percent customs duties at Bourbon from the United States to mid-April, according to a Commission spokesman.
At the same time, the Trump government is invited to new calls to avoid a customs war between the EU and the United States.
The bourbont tariffs will thus be introduced together with a broader package of countermeasures in response to the Trump government’s 25 percent tariffs on steel and aluminum.
According to previous decisions, the customs at Bourbon would have been introduced as early as April 1.
In the United States, Bourbon manufacturers have had many days to change before the EU tariffs, including earning deliveries to the EU-which is one of American spread manufacturers by far the largest market.
Donald Trump has threatened to introduce 200 percent duties on all EU alcohol products on the EU facing 50 percent customs duties at Bourbon.
