John Malkovich is considered one of the largest living character actors of Hollywood. So big that his genius himself was already the subject of the canvas with Being John Malkovich. The acting ends recently faced an experience that has undergone many of her companions in the past 15 years: she was occupied for a Marvel film. The Fantastic Four: Turn First Steps, however, found the star to be extremely strange.
John Malkovich rejected Marvel offers for years until he accepted Fantastic Four
Malkovich recently told Variety:
It is of course a very strange experience because [beim Dreh] there is Nothing except gigantic screens and 18 cranes. Very strange. But it was fun, the cast was very entertaining. We’ll see how it works.
Enthusiasm sounds different. In particular, many long-standing character actors who attach great value to on-site turning work initially withdraw the experience of such a blockbuster turn. Gandalf actor Ian McKellen is said to even made to cry as cited as fandomwire.
In an interview, Malkovich recently revealed that he had rejected Marvel offers for years. According to the variety quote of a GQ article, the fee was always too low for a strenuous blockbuster shoot:
My rejection had no artistic reasons. I just didn’t like the deals. The filming of such films is grueling. If you do me hangs in front of a green screen for six months, at least pays me properly. If you don’t want that, that’s okay, but then I prefer to play theater or direct or do something else.
Despite all the reservations, Malkovich’s statement promises exceptional chemistry among the cast members. And that seems vital, not least in the shadow of 18 camera cranes. It is not yet clear what role Malkovich embodies in the upcoming MCU blockbuster. Rumor has it to be seen as a villain Red Ghost.
