The rescue service has completed its operation at the landslide in Stenungsund – but the area is still cordoned off.
“It is not improbable that more landslides may occur,” the rescue service states.
As of 6 p.m. on Tuesday, the rescue service will end its efforts at the landslide-affected area at the E6 outside Stenungsund.
However, the area will continue to be cordoned off, as the county administrative board has decided on an access ban.
“The assessment is that it is associated with a life-threatening situation in the affected area, as the ground is still unstable and it is not unlikely that more landslides could occur,” says Daniel Gillesèn, rescue leader at the Greater Gothenburg Rescue Service, in a press release.
The County Administrative Board makes the same assessment.
“Taking into account the great risk of personal injury that exists, the County Administrative Board makes the assessment that a ban for the public to stay in the area is necessary,” the decision on access bans states.
