Inzoi has been available on Steam in the early access since the end of March, but not all players are enthusiastic. Now the developer apologizes to everyone who is disappointed.
The South Korean “Inzoi Studio” and the publisher Krafton (known for PUBG) have published a more realistic alternative to the Sims with Inzoi. Since March 28, 2025, it has been available on Steam in early access, and 83 % of reviews are positive there.
Inzoi also gets criticism:
Now Inzoi Director Hyungjun “Kjun” Kim has contacted the fans on X (formerly Twitter). In an open letter, he thanks for the support of the community – and apologizes for the frustration that his game triggered.

Developer does not want to use the term “early access” as an excuse
This is what the boss of Inzoi says: In his post on X, Kjun admits that Inzoi still has many weaknesses and that many players find the content insufficient. “I sincerely apologize for any frustration that was created by this,” he writes.
He reports that he feels like a “nervous parent” when he sees Inzoi streams. But seeing how the community enjoys the game is like a huge success for him. The team takes the feedback to heart and wanted to work even harder.
It is particularly important to him that Inzoi is not just another early access game that rests on this status. He assures:
Even if we are not yet perfect, we want to prove that this is not an early access title that only takes advantage of this label. We really want to communicate with you, build the game together and seriously adhere to this promise.
On April 1, 2025, Kjun also reports on the Inzoi Discord server:
In addition, we will continue to address critical problems with hotfixes as soon as they are identified. As already mentioned, it is important to us to stay true to our words and not to use the term “early access” as an excuse. We are grateful for everyone who bought the game and will keep our promise through regular updates and open communication.
“The introvert version of Swen Vincke”
How does that get the community? His words are well received: The Discord post received over 2,100 hearts, the news on X collected more than 8,800 likes (as of April 3, 7:35 p.m.). Many players comment that they have hope and look forward to upcoming content.
The message is also received positively on Reddit. Korean__Princess writes: “I love [die Entwickler] Even more if you send such letters. ” And positive Smile-2717 says: “All in all, it was a solid early access start. I can only hope that the game will develop and grow with worthwhile updates and changes.”
The user Akasha1885 even draws a comparison between Hyungjun “Kjun” Kim and Swen Vincke, head behind Larian Studios and Baldur’s Gate 3. Vincke enthusiastically and moved the gaming community with his special outfit at the Game Awards 2023 and moved to X with his speech.
In his message on X, Kjun emphasizes that Inzoi began as a small, personal project from his own enthusiasm. He already said that the development of Inzoi was his “biggest challenge” so far.
