Marc Jacobs has teamed up with the Wizard of Oz to present a capsule collection that takes us straight to the land of Oz!
For many, The Wizard of Oz (1939) is a childhood film. Building on its success, a prequel – The Fantasy World of Oz – was released almost seventy years later, in 2013. Although it starred key actors like Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams and James Franco, it did not see a sequel until now . Indeed, the long-awaited film in cinemas for several months, Wickedis also a prequel to The Wizard of Oz!
If it’s so famous, it’s because Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande are on the bill! But also because many beauty and fashion brands have decided to collaborate with this fantastic film to offer exceptional capsule collections. Fan of the original film, Marc Jacobs decided to partner with The Wizard of Oz to celebrate his 85th birthday. For the occasion, he has created a collection to follow very closely. This presents iconic pieces from the American brand such as the famous Tote Bag, the Snapshot Bag and the Sack Bag, revisited with photos and prints taken from the short film.

The collection includes 21 pieces including hoodies, sweaters, T-shirts, bracelets, necklaces and even the famous red slippers worn by Dorothy Gale – a character played by Judy Garland – with a modern twist!

Accessories are available on the brand’s website and in certain stores. Prices range from $95 to $550.
This is not the first time that Marc Jacobs has made a nod to his childhood film. Already in 2016, the American designer released a red glitter nail polish nicknamed “Surrender Dorothy”.
