NOK 100 million will go towards the work of tracking and identifying the dead and missing in Ukraine.
“Russia’s full-scale attack on Ukraine has terrible consequences for the civilian population. Norway contributes to people who have been killed or missing being found and identified,” says Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide in a press release.
Barth Eide says that the identification work also applies to children forcibly taken to Russia.
The Norwegian money, from the so-called Nansen programme, goes to the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) and is valid for 2024-2026.
