As always when the championship is won in cross -country skiing so much is all about Jonna Sundling. She has won three straight sprint golds at the World Cup 2021, the Olympics 2022 and the World Cup 2023 in recent years and has been absolutely outstanding.

Now comes the verdict in Norway for Kristine Stavås Skistad.
– The entrance to the season was anything but optimal. What we saw in Lillehammer was in the best case almost at the average level. At NM, she showed what she really can do. Since the weekend after in Les Rousses she won and steered the field just as she wanted. That day she was long before the schedule, but a few days before the NM she was maybe a little behind in the schedule. I’m a little nervous about the World Cup, but I think she has control. I think she will be close to her best form during the World Cup, says Norwegian TV2 expert Petter Skinstad to the Sports Bible.
Do you think she can win the World Cup gold?
– If she has managed to get from the NM and Les Rousses to the World Cup, I believe in it. But as good as Jonna Sundling has been at the championship in recent years and as tough as that track is in the sprint, with two long uphill slopes, she must be in top form to keep up. She has to show her very best when she comes to the stadium for the last time, says the Norwegian ski expert in the interview.
