Norwegian insurance company urges women to drive this Christmas

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

It is the Norwegian insurance company, Tryg Forsikring, which issued an appeal in a press release, “Male drivers are represented in twice as many accidents as women. Therefore, we urge women to drive, if given the choice.”

Statistics from Swedish Transport show that men more often break traffic rules such as speeding or drunk driving. It is also men who have the most accidents and the big difference cannot be explained by men driving more. Even taking that into account, the men are involved in more serious accidents.

The campaign has created great debate after Norwegian TV2 published it on its social media.
