Norwegian crown princess’s son arrested again

Borg Høiby was initially arrested on August 4 after an incident in an apartment in Oslo. He is accused of, and has admitted, assaulting his girlfriend and has been ordered to have a restraining order. He is also being investigated for a series of other crimes, including threats, vandalism, theft of an electric scooter and assault of two former girlfriends.

The police have announced that an update on the case has been made on Saturday and that the case now includes a total of four plaintiffs, writes NRK. After the arrest on Friday, he was again released on Saturday afternoon. His lawyer Öjvind Bratlien says so NRK.

The lawyer: Loose grounds

Borg Høiby denies having violated the contact ban, according to Öjvind Bratlien.

– During my 17 years as a defense lawyer, I have never witnessed an arrest on such loose factual and legal grounds, he says to NRK.

The 27-year-old, who is Mette-Marit’s son from a previous relationship, has said in a written statement that he has problems with alcohol and drugs.

The Norwegian crown prince couple has so far refused to answer questions about the suspicions.

– It is not right to say anything more about the matter at this time out of consideration for everyone involved, Crown Prince Haakon said at a short press conference in connection with a visit to Trøndelag on Thursday.
