Norway’s unexpected gesture towards Sebastian Samuelsson – after the big mockery in the Biathlon World Cup: “They should be ashamed”

Norway has mocked the Swedes during the Biathlon World Cup.
But over the last weekend, they were forced to apologize with an unexpected gesture.
– They were ashamed, admits Sebastian Samuelsson to Expressen.

The Biathlon World Cup was one big dominance for the Norwegian men with the superstar Johannes Thingnes Bö at the head. But in the WC race where they were supposed to be the most superior, things went wrong.

Sweden’s revenge

Because in the men’s relay, Sweden defied all expectations and broke the Norwegians in a brilliant effort in Nove Mesto. Sebastian Samuelsson ran the final stretch and with flawless shooting he managed to cross the finish line first on Saturday night.

An incredibly nice revenge for the Swedish team that was both mocked and laughed at by their Norwegian rivals during the course of the championship. Now “Sebbe” also reveals that they have been forced to endure slips from Norway throughout the season.
– The Norwegian fencing team has mocked us Swedish men during the season quite a lot, for the shooting and a little bit of everything possible. And I think it was in Antholz when we did a half-bad relay, they signed a boot and said that we should give this to Sweden the next time they are on the podium in a relay, says Samuelsson to Expressen.

The gift for Sebbe

The Swedish biathlon star, who also likes to argue with the Norwegians, then responded in the best way.
– And then I replied that I will come and pick it up in Nove Mesto. And they kept their word so I got it, he says in the interview.
– Cool, they had to be a little embarrassed.

The Norwegian riding team kept their promise and after the blue-yellow WC gold in the relay, they handed over the signed boot to Samuelsson in a very unexpected gesture, see the video below.

“Stylish of Norway”

Sweden and Norway are often highlighted for their great rivalry in biathlon, but the respect between the national teams is also great. And most of the time there is a good atmosphere between the riders, even if they appreciate heckling each other in front of the media.
– I like that it’s a Swedish-Norwegian duel, we just think it’s fun even if the media plays it up a little worse than it is sometimes, says Norwegian star skater Sturla Holm Laegreid to the evening newspaper and can agree that their team is good at provoking.
– They have put out both the one and the other that were a little on the border maybe, but it’s funny that “Sebbe” takes it with a twinkle in his eye.
