Norwegian sprint star Kristine Stavås Skistad, 25, returns to the Ski World Cup this weekend in Lillehammer.
Kristine Stavås Skistad had stomach surgery at the beginning of November, but has recovered from the operation faster than expected.
– He is ready to compete. That’s a victory in itself, Skistad coach Lage Sofienlund told NRK.
Skistad will be able to compete in the World Cup of Skiing already on Saturday, when the freestyle sprint races will be held in Lillehammer, Norway.
Sofienlund reminds that Skistad is not yet fully recovered after the surgery.
– Kristen’s condition is far from the best after such a period. However, he is really stubborn. That’s why I think he can ski a good race, the coach reflected.
The sprint star finished second in the women’s sprint cup last season.
In Lillehammer, in addition to Skistad, you can see the Norwegian peaks that were on the sidelines in Ruka Didrik Tönseth and Anne Kjersti Kalvå.
The competitions in Lillehammer start on Friday, when the program includes a ten-kilometer intermediate start race in freestyle skiing. There will be a combined competition on Sunday.
