Astrid Öyre Slind cleaned the prize table in Beitostölen at the opening of the Norwegian ski season in Beitostölen.
Astrid Öyre Slind shrugged last spring at the World Skiing Championships in Planica, when he immediately won a medal at the age of 35 in his first adult race start. Slind won the World Championship bronze in the combined competition.
Slind, who skied in the long-distance Ski Classic series in the Team Aker Dählie stable for most of his career, was continuing in the royal series this season as well.
However, the opening of the Norwegian ski season in Beitostölen, which went well, changed the mind of the Norwegian champion – now he would like to invest in both.
Slind took the win in Sunday’s women’s 10km freestyle race. On Saturday, the same distance on the traditional brought second place, when Slind missed the winner of the race About Heidi Weng 4.7 seconds.
– Last year I missed the top by quite a few seconds. I don’t expect to have tightened everything, but chasing a podium position in the World Cup would be fun, Slind commented to NRK and confirmed this season that he will focus above all on the Cross-Country World Cup.
– If I ski hard enough to fight for the win, my goal is to win the distance cup, Slind admitted.
The Norwegian hero is also included In the Norwegian cross-country team heading to the opening of the World Cup in Ruka.
A rare treat
Back in the spring, Slind decided to refuse the courtship of the national team and focus on long trips with Team Aker Dählie.
Last season, Slind was also seen in the World Cup, but before that the break had accumulated for nine years.
