Norway’s response to Sweden after Kristine Stavås Skistad’s mocking gesture towards Linn Svahn that everyone is talking about: “Should be completely honest”

Kristine Stavå’s Skistad has aroused strong emotions in Sweden.
And has had to receive a lot of hate after his mocking gesture.
– The biggest compliment she can get is to be hated in Sweden, says national team colleague Tiril Udnes Weng to TV2.

Since Therese Johaug aside from cross-country skiing, there hasn’t been too much rivalry between neighboring countries Sweden and Norway. But this winter, the Norwegian sprint specialist has Kristine Stavå’s Ski City took it to a whole other level.

Skistad’s gesture

She argued with the entire Swedish women’s national team during the Tour de Ski and has also been clear that she does not even talk to the Swedes at the World Cup. She seems to love to bicker and send snarls at her sprinting rivals.

On Saturday night, the next prank came when she celebrated the final victory in Canmore, Canada by sending a mocking blow kiss to the runner-up Maja Dahlqvist and the third Lynn Svahn.
– I thought it was nice. It came in the heat of the moment, she explained in Viaplay after the race.

The Norwegian answer

Stavås Skistad also posted a picture of his fling kiss on Instagram, see below, and that post has received a lot of critical comments and pure personal attacks. Now she is defended by her Norwegian national team colleagues who only see it as a positive thing.
– I grinned properly, I must say. She does it her way, I just think it’s funny. I think we run an entertainment industry, we have to remember that, says the Norwegian ski king Johannes Hösflot Kläbo to TV2.

The Norwegians appreciate that the 25-year-old is building up a strong rivalry against Sweden, as it used to be between the neighboring countries on the ski tracks. The teammate Tiril Udnes Weng also think that people overreact to an innocent joke from Stavås Skistad.
– I think it is within the limits. It’s just a casual kiss. I think a lot of people are oversensitive, to be completely honest. Skistad is a very nice teammate, there is nothing wrong with her. Kristine thinks it’s fun to annoy the Swedes. The biggest compliment she can get is that she is hated in Sweden. I think it’s fun that we’ve got that rivalry, says Weng to the Norwegian TV channel.
