Norway is considering tightening border controls due to the increased threat of terrorism, says Norwegian public radio NRK.

Minister of Justice Emilie Enger Mehl tells NRK that the police would use temporary border control to verify who is staying in Norway.

– It is important that we know who is in the Norwegian territory, Mehl says to NRK.

This week, the security service of the Norwegian police, PST, raised the assessment of the terrorist threat level from moderate to high. The PST stated that the threat is particularly aimed at Jewish and Israeli targets due to the tense situation in the Middle East and the attacks against Israeli targets in Copenhagen and Stockholm.
