Northvolt chief acquitted after the raid on the battery factory

During Friday, the Skellefteå District Court announced the verdict against the manager at Northvolt who was charged with violating the Aliens Act. The manager is acquitted of the charges.

In the fall of 2021, several authorities made a joint raid on the construction of the battery factory in Skellefteå. It was discovered that several workers from countries outside the EU lacked work permits.

The battery company Northvolt has always maintained that the responsibility lies with the subcontractor. According to the judgment, the district court makes the same assessment and states that the 12 people lacked work permits, but that they did not work for Northvolt.
