South Korea announced that 5 North Korean unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) violated its airspace and one of them flew to the capital Seoul.
According to Yonhap’s report, in a written statement from the Chief of General Staff, it was announced that North Korean UAVs entered the country from near the city of Gyeonggi.

In the statement, it was noted that one of the 5 UAVs left the country’s airspace after flying to the north of Seoul.
In the statement, which did not include information on whether the UAVs were armed or not, it was stated that a limited level of operation was carried out to prevent civilians from being harmed.
In the statement, it was emphasized that the provocations of the Northern side would be responded to “hard and rightly”.
It is stated that although the South Korean army took off the warplanes and about 100 shots were fired from the helicopters, the UAVs could not be hit.

It was shared that a “KA-1” type fighter plane that participated in the operation crashed, but 2 pilots escaped without injury.
South Korean military experts consider this initiative of North Korea, which has increased its missile tests recently, as a clear provocation.
