North Korea test-fired several short-range ballistic missiles toward the sea east of the country overnight Monday, South Korea and Japan said.
The robots crashed into the sea outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone, according to Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. No material damage or personal injury has been reported.
Kishida condemns North Korea’s repeated ballistic missile tests to threaten the peace and security of Japan, the region and internationally.
The test firings take place at the same time that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is visiting South Korea’s capital, Seoul.
South Korea and the United States ended military exercises on Thursday.
