Last September, North Korea’s Kim made a rare trip abroad to meet Putin in the Russian Far East.
President of Russia Vladimir Putin indicated his intention to visit North Korea soon, North Korea’s state news agency KCNA reported on Sunday.
Putin met with the foreign minister of North Korea Choe Son-hui in Russia last week. Putin reportedly thanked the North Korean leader during the meeting Kim Jong–dreams from an invitation to visit.
According to KCNA, Choe told Putin that the North Korean “administration warmly welcomes President Putin to visit Pyongyang, and is ready to greet the closest friend of the Korean people most sincerely.”
According to KCNA, Russia also thanked North Korea for its support and solidarity in the war in Ukraine.
The rapprochement of relations between Russia and North Korea irritates Western countries
Russia and North Korea are traditional allies that have recently become closer. Last September, Kim made a rare trip abroad to meet Putin in the Russian Far East.
Western countries have accused Russia and North Korea of cooperation in the war in Ukraine, as North Korea is believed to have sent artillery ammunition and weapons to Russia.
Parivaljako’s increased military and economic cooperation has raised concerns, especially in the United States and South Korea. This month, the US accused North Korea of sending ballistic missiles to Russia.
In addition, South Korea has accused North Korea of sending over a million artillery shells to Russia in exchange for satellite technology.
