North Korea is suspected of having launched several short-range ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan, says the South Korean military.
Acting President of South Korea Choi Sang-mok said the country would respond harshly to the border neighbor’s actions. Choi also accused the missile launch of violating a UN Security Council resolution.
North Korea launched a ballistic missile earlier a week ago, when US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was visiting South Korea.
North Korea conducted numerous missile tests last year. Country leader Kim Jong-un has criticized US efforts to strengthen its security cooperation in the direction of Japan and South Korea.
