South Korea’s military announced earlier on Wednesday that, according to its information, North Korea’s preparations to launch a long-range ballistic missile are nearing completion.
North Korea has launched a long-range ballistic missile early on Thursday, South Korean officials say.
Japan also confirmed the flight and said the missile fell into the sea. The country’s defense minister Gen Nakatan according to the report, it was North Korea’s longest-lasting missile test.
According to the minister, it was probably an intercontinental ballistic missile. This would then be North Korea’s first intercontinental ballistic missile test since December 2023.
