The three North Korean robot tests on New Year’s Eve became symptomatic of the year, when tensions on the Korean Peninsula increased.
The robots, which Japan and South Korea reported, were shot east about 350 kilometers before plunging into the sea between North Korea and Japan.
Even before Saturday’s test, Pyongyang had conducted more than 70 robot tests during the year. The New Year’s Eve tests take place the same week that the country flew in drones over South Korea.
