– The situation is so serious that if we can’t run more ore trains, we have to stop even more operations and notify staff, said CEO Jan Moström.
Norrtåg will not stop traffic
One proposal to solve the situation is to stop passenger traffic on the route. However, Norrtåg believes that it is needed for the communities in Norrbotten to live.
– If the industries don’t have a society, they won’t be able to cope either, says CEO Joakim Berg.
But he agrees that the Malmbanan must be upgraded.
– There is no time to sit still in the boat and wait. We must choose now: Decommissioning or development.
