A commuter card now costs SEK 399, a third of the price for commuters in Vindeln and a halving for those commuting to and from Vännäs.
In addition to lowering the price, Norrtåg also invests in local information campaigns and hopes for collaborations with employers who might be able to agree that their employees can adjust their working hours based on how the trains run.
– We will be out campaigning in places where many people move, we want to reach those who have never tried commuting by train, says Joakim Berg.
Today, only a small proportion of those who commute to and from Vännäs, Vindeln and Umeå do so by train.
