Norfolk County resident, 18, charged with uttering threats involving Delhi Secondary School

An 18-year-old Norfolk County resident has been charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm at Delhi District Secondary School.

Around midnight on Wednesday, Norfolk OPP said a group of people had a conversation “using electronic means,” during which one of them threatened “to cause harm to the school and individuals within the school community.”

With assistance from Niagara Regional Police Service, the suspect was found in Welland and arrested.

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear at a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe.

Police say there is no threat to public safety at this time.
