Spain’s Sergio Ramos made history when he became the defender with the most goals in the Champions League. Sevilla’s season, which he represented, in the Euro arenas ended.
The Danish club FC Copenhagen secured a place in the top 16 of the soccer Champions League on Tuesday.
The last time the Nordic team played in the playoffs was 13 years ago in the 2010–11 season. At that time, Copenhagen’s journey to the quarterfinals ended when the team lost to the English Chelsea with 0–2 on aggregate.
Copenhagen decided this year’s next place by beating the Turkish team Galatasaray 1–0. The goal was completed by a Danish striker Lukas Leragerwho has scored three goals in this season’s Champions League.
The goalscorer also brought heart palpitations to his team in the final moments. Lerager received two yellow cards in five minutes and had to leave the field at the end of the regular game time.
Extra time was played for four minutes, but Galatasaray failed to prevent the Danes’ celebrations. However, Galatasaray’s European season continues in the quarterfinals of the Europa League.
Copenhagen has played six times in the group stage of the Champions League. The club had advanced to the quarterfinals once before.
At the same time, elsewhere, the English Manchester United’s season in the Euro arenas came to an end. The German club Bayern Munich, which had already secured the group victory, beat ManU 1–0 by Kingsley Coman on the finish line.

Sergio Ramos scored a historic goal
