Even now, Dadgostar wants the four parties in the opposition – S, MP, C and V – to discuss how to cooperate before the 2026 election.
– It is extremely important. The voters want to know what we are going to do.
A distinct government collaboration between the red-green parties has not been presented and C has expressed skepticism about governing together with V.
But Dadgostar says she wants to see a red-green government that also includes C, if the four parties together gather 50 percent or more of the vote.
The requirement: Must sit in government
She does not intend to accept that V may once again act as a support party for an S-led government.
– If we want our mandates, we have to sit at the table and in government. At the time V only gave their mandates and stood outside, that’s not democracy, that’s not democratic, she says.
Is that an ultimatum?
– It sounds so harsh and ugly, but yes, call it an ultimatum if you want. For us, it is a matter of course.
– I would never have dreamed of saying to Magdalena Andersson: You are not allowed to participate, but let me in as prime minister.
Willing to cooperate with reluctant C
However, V and C differ on many important issues, including welfare gains, one of V’s core issues.
Dadgostar suggests that you start compromising with each other early in order to reach an agreement.
– It is all the more important that we therefore sit down already now and talk about what is the best compromise, says Nooshi Dadgostar.
However, C has not expressed any desire to cooperate with V – quite the opposite.
Just over a month ago, Muharrem Demirok (C) came out and said that he “can’t see how any responsible party could cooperate with V in a government when these kinds of views are expressed”. He then referred to the debate about anti-Semitism within V.
– It appears a bit like Demirok throws this concept into a game. C has not wanted to talk to us for many, many years, says Nooshi Dadgostar.
