“Nobody cares about Tyler1”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Canadian streamer Angela “AriaSaki” Don played a few rounds of Overwatch 2 on Twitch. A clip from this stream, in which the streamer loudly calls for a healer, then made the rounds. The streamer hit back after some pretty nasty comments were made about the clip.

What is this clip? In the December 20th clip, AriaSaki yells that she’s down to 8 health and desperately needs a healer. The streamer screeches quite a bit. At this point, however, both healers on their team were already incapacitated, which can also be clearly seen in the kill cam in the clip.

Clip causes discussions about double standards

How were the reactions? The clip has already garnered almost 92,000 views (as of December 21, 3:15 p.m.), making it one of the streamer’s most-watched clips (via Twitch Tracker). The video was also shared on the LivestreamFail subreddit, the largest streaming community on reddit.

The clip received almost 200 comments on reddit. Many of these accused AriaSaki of not properly understanding the situation and unfairly yelling at her healers. From this behavior, some users then drew conclusions about the skills of the streamer and wrote that she was just a bronze player and at a very low rank.

What was the discussion? However, some reddit users found this portrayal quite unfair. Male streamers would often become louder or behave toxically towards their fellow players. However, that would not be posted in the LivestreamFails and would not receive such negative reactions.

As one reddit user writes:

“Tyler1 does exactly the same thing 500 times in one stream. Why are the comments in these threads so positive but here it’s the opposite?”

In fact, some big streamers like popular LoL troll Tyler1 have made their freaks their trademark. In fact, Tyler1 was so toxic that by the time Overwatch 2 launched, he was banned from chat before he could even play a single match. Even with the streamer DrDisrespect, freaking out is simply part of it.

Streamer says everything is just entertainment

What does AriaSaki herself say about this? The streamer commented on the clip on Twitter. She did not agree with the presentation on reddit and therefore wanted to clarify a few things.

AriaSaki explained that she knew that her healers were already dead. They wouldn’t have noticed anything about the action either, since they probably basically deactivated the voice chat. It was just entertainment for her viewers and she was just in a bit of a goofy mood.

The streamer demands that girls should have fun and stand out (via Twitter).

The fact that her competence was questioned because of the clip probably bothers AriaSaki in particular: after all, she doesn’t play with her main.

Other streamers also struggle again and again with the fact that their skills are being questioned. The CoD streamer Nadia has already had to deal with cheating allegations several times.
