Blade Runner 2049

Blade Runner 2049 has achieved the impossible and successfully continued Ridley Scott’s sci-fi masterpiece

With films like Ridley Scott’s mega sci-fi and cyberpunk classic Blade Runner, a sequel can almost do everything wrong. The cult is too big, the nostalgic memories of the original, a child of its time, are too comforting. But director Denis Villeneuve (Dune) did a very good job with the first film not simply repeating or tarnishing the legacybut to find something independent and yet suitable.

Of course, main actor Ryan Gosling helps here, as he goes about his work in a similarly stoic manner as in Drive. Ana de Armas, Jared Leto, Robin Wright and Dave Bautista also fit a perfect match in this reworking of the infamous replicant theme. The fact that Harrison Ford shows up again after all this time is of course the icing on the cake.

But also the images or the soundtrack You don’t have to hide from the original. Fans get pretty much exactly what they’re hoping for here.
