The £400m, 417ft (127m) long and 40m high yacht is being built by Oceano in the Netherlands. However, the Koningshaven Bridge, known locally as “De Hef”, will have to be dismantled before the yacht can sail.

However, the steel bridge has a long history and is now considered a national monument. Moreover, when the Bridge was renovated in 2017, the local council promised that it would never be dismantled again. That’s why the local people are very against the dismantling of the bridge. However, according to reports, Amazon founder Bezos will cover the costs of dismantling the bridge.

A spokesperson for the mayor said, “This is the only way to the sea,” and shared that there is actually no other way to get the yacht to the sea.
Koningshaven, which dates from 1878 and is remembered with its two towers and the green tone of its steel, was heavily damaged during the bombardment of Rotterdam in 1940.
