The Palestinian football team has withdrawn from a tournament in Malaysia, the Southeast Asian country’s football federation announced on Tuesday (October 10), citing the conflict between Israel and Hamas militants. “ The Palestinian team had to withdraw from its participation (…) because she could not travel to Kuala Lumpur due to the tense situation (…),” the Malaysian Football Association said in a statement. The team was scheduled to play the Merdeka Cup friendly tournament in the capital, Kuala Lumpur. The Palestinian team is scheduled to play 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Australia and Lebanon next month. She also qualified for the Asian Cup regional tournament in Qatar, which begins in January.
