No one has been arrested on Thursday morning for the murder of a 16-year-old boy in Sandviken. The police also do not report that there is a suspect and have not been in the area during the night.

The 16-year-old was found shot on a cycle path between Barrsätra and Vallhov in Sandviken late on Tuesday evening. He was taken to hospital by ambulance, but his life could not be saved. The police have started a preliminary investigation regarding murder.

Monika Carlsson, deputy local area manager in Gästrikland, could not answer at a press conference on Wednesday whether the murder is gang-related. However, there is no clear connection to gang crime. At the same time, she finds it difficult to see that the 16-year-old would have been shot accidentally.
