In the case of the oven, where dirt is often encrusted, bicarbonate acts as a cleaning agent by breaking down charred food residue. Here’s how to use it properly, step by step, to clean your oven effortlessly. In a bowl, mix 3 to 4 tablespoons of baking soda with a little water. Add the water little by little until you obtain a consistency of thick paste, easy to spread.

Spread the paste generously on the interior walls of your oven, paying particular attention to the most clogged areas. You can use a sponge, a spatula or even your fingers (with gloves if you prefer). However, avoid covering the heating elements or electrical parts. Let the dough rest for several hours, or overnight if the oven is very dirty. Baking soda needs time to dissolve grease and remove encrusted residue.

Once the resting time is up, use a damp sponge or cloth to wipe away the paste. You will find that the dirt comes off easily, without requiring intense scrubbing. Give a final wipe with a clean, damp cloth to remove any baking soda residue. Then wipe with a dry cloth to avoid streaks.

If some traces and dirt persist, you can complete this method with a mixture of white vinegar and water. Spray a little vinegar on stubborn stains, leave for a few minutes, then wipe. The vinegar reacts with the bicarbonate to create a light foam that helps loosen the toughest dirt.

Cleaning your oven has never been easier. No more spending hours scrubbing or using expensive, harsh products. Thanks to baking soda and a little water, you will find an impeccable oven without stress.
