Peace of mind during your next trips by car, train or bus! A solution that does not require going to a pharmacy.
Traveling by car, bus or train is not easy for some passengers. A large number of people, adults and children alike, suffer from travel sickness. After a few minutes of driving, they may feel so unwell that they become nauseous, dizzy or even break out in a cold sweat. For some people, travel sickness can be occasional, while for others, it can be a recurring and often “disabling” problem, especially when going on vacation or on a weekend. But there is a trick to reducing these pains.
For this, there is no need to buy a gadget or a new accessory. As surprising as it may seem, the American company Apple has developed a new feature, included in the latest iOS 18 update, which is aimed at people who experience motion sickness when using their phone on the way. When you’re in a car, your eyes see your phone screen not moving, while the inner ear senses the movements of the moving car. This mismatch between what you see and what you feel creates an inconsistency in the brain, which triggers symptoms.
To prevent motion sickness, it is in your best interest to activate the “Show vehicle movement indicators” functionality in your iPhone settings, available in the “Accessibility” then “Movement” tab of your settings. You can opt for automatic mode which allows you to display black points on your screen, like markers, which move in synchronization with the movements of the vehicle, thanks to the phone’s sensors. So, this will reduce the discordance in the brain.
This function is now accessible on smartphones that are compatible with iOS 18. Among them, there are the second and third generation iPhone SE, the iPhone XR, XS, XS Max, the entire iPhone 11 series, 12, 13, 14, 15 as well as the new iPhone 16.
