No Mbappé, Griezmann… But Zaire Emery, Lacazette and Barcola! Thierry Henry’s pre-list for the Olympics

No Mbappe Griezmann But Zaire Emery Lacazette and Barcola Thierry

The pre-list for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games has been revealed with a few surprises.

It was expected, and it is partly disappointing. Thierry Henry has revealed the preliminary list of players who will compete in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games next July. A list far from final because the U23 coach still has a month to make his selection. At the start of this list, Thierry Henry recalled how difficult it was to make this list because it is the clubs that decide. Among the very important names, we will note the presence of Zaire Emery, Bradley Barcola, Alexandre Lacazette, but unsurprisingly, Kylian Mbappé and Antoine Griezmann are not present.

“We try to have the best possible team. It’s up to me to try to manage the situation of Warren who is in the Euro. When we look at the situation of the 18+4, we will play matches in the heat. L “The physical integrity of the players will have to be taken into account. I am aware of his situation, including that of Barcola” explained Thierry Henry.

What about Mbappé?

For the moment, Kylian Mbappé is not yet on the list, but another player over 23 will join the list and Thierry Henry has not lost hope. “No, you’re not drawing a line, in hope. But I have to give a fairly real list. Even if I know that this one is virtual. Everything is open for everyone, but you have to give a list so everyone can prepare, but we’re not closing the door on anyone.”

The list

  • Guardians: Knight, Nkambadio, Remains, Risser
  • Defenders: Diakite, Estève, Locko, Luka, Sildillia, Truffert, Yoro.
  • Environments : Akliouche, Chotard, Doué, Koné, Millot, Thuram, Ugochukwu, Zaire-Emery.
  • Attackers: Barcola, Kalimuendo, Lacazette, Mateta, Olise, Tel

The Bleuets will play three friendly matches in July to prepare for the Olympic football tournament of the Paris 2024 Games. They will face Paraguay on Thursday July 4 in Bayonne (9:15 p.m., Jean-Dauger stadium), then the Dominican Republic and Japan, on Thursday July 11 and Wednesday July 17 in Toulon (Mayol stadium, 9:15 p.m. and 9:05 p.m.).
