Kasem temporarily resigned from his position as presenter of the TV program Khalid & Sophie, due to publications in the Algemeen Dagblad (AD) about alleged bribery. Kasem is happy that a “tough period” for him and his family is coming to an end. “Despite my rock-solid confidence in a good outcome, this has had major consequences for both my role as a TV presenter and for my family and the people close to me,” he said in his statement.
