Part of the Made by Holland plan was the construction of 98 homes on the former military police grounds on the estate and a hotel on the other side of the palace. That’s not happening now. This also cancels the proposed felling of a number of trees in the Borrebos, which should have made way for construction. According to the owners, the houses and hotel were needed to pay for the large-scale restoration.
