no further escalation between Hezbollah and Israel during Iranian strike

Lebanese Hezbollah announced this Sunday, April 14, that it had bombed the Syrian Golan, occupied and annexed by Israel, for the second time in the space of a few hours, at a time when Iran launched its drone and missile attack in the direction of ‘Israel.

Nor the firepower deployed by the Hezbollah nor the nature of the Israeli targets targeted in recent hours are out of the ordinary. The concomitance between the Iranian strike on the night of Saturday to Sunday and the Hezbollah shots may be the result of chance or of coordination between Hassan Nasrallah’s party and Iran.

In the press releases claiming responsibility for the shooting, Hezbollah, however, makes no connection with Tehran’s response to the destruction of the Iranian consulate in Damascus on April 1, in a raid attributed to Israel.

“Normal” Israeli activity

At dawn on Sunday, Hezbollah fired another large salvo of Katyusha rockets against three military positions in the Syrian Golan occupied and annexed by Israel.

A few hours earlier, one of these positions had already been attacked. All of these targets had already been targeted several times by Hezbollah in recent weeks.

Israeli military activity was not out of the ordinary either. Even if the air force pushed a little further than usual by attacking targets in the Jezzine region at night more than 45 km from the front, this is not an unprecedented escalation.
