Each province has been given a task by the government for crisis emergency care. The COA sees that there is far too little space to receive people who have applied for asylum or who already have a residence permit. That is why municipalities are called upon in the time until 1 October – by which time COA thinks it has solved the lack of space – to help.
For the province of Utrecht, this means that 225 refugees must be accommodated. In that sense, Vijfheerenlanden is already making a sufficient contribution to this call by accommodating the 180 Afghan evacuees.
