No Early Access, no subscription, all about the model

No Early Access no subscription all about the model

While we are approaching the release of Dune Awakening, the publisher and developer Funcom wanted to bring some important details on the launch of its game, and more particularly its economic model. Since it presents itself as a huge MMO, you have to expect certain practices and it was time to know more. The first thing to remember is that May 20 will correspond well to the launch of the full game, and not the Early Access as we could have imagined. No subscription will be required and the business model will follow a relatively classic scheme, with free updates, paid DLCs and undoubtedly micro-transactions to push for compulsive purchase. A practice after all classic and logical, especially since Funcom supports its know-how in the field, notably with the MMO Anarchy Online which is still active (and which will celebrate its 25th anniversary next year), and Conan Exiles which continues to benefit from free updates.

Funcom also takes the opportunity to point out the availability of its pre -orders, with several planned editions: Standard, Deluxe and Ultimate. The standard edition of Dune Awakening is sold at a price of € 49.99, while the Deluxe edition (€ 69.99) and the ultimate edition (€ 89.99) offer players a 5 -day advance and several unique objects. Via the Deluxe edition and the ultimate edition, Dune Awakening also offers a Season Pass which will unlock four DLCs over time, the first unlocking at the launch.

In the Deluxe edition, players will also get the threatening armor of Sardaukar, the elite military force by which players are driven out in the game. Ultimate publishing adds all of the above, as well as the emblematic combination of Paul Atreids from the 2021 film, a digital artbook, a digital band, unique colors and the Caladan Palace Place and decorations. By pre -ordering one of the editions, including the standard edition, the players will receive a universal color pattern that can be applied to vehicles, weapons and armor, as well as the Muad’dib terrarium, an integrated decoration at the base which houses the emblematic mouse of the desert. You know everything.
