There was concern in Gislaved in connection with the high-profile social democrat Annika Strandhäll giving a May Day speech. P4 Jönköping reports that the Nazi Nordic Resistance Movement (NMR) came to the scene and that they, among other things, set fire to an EU flag.

The police do not want to confirm to TT that it was NMR that disrupted Strandhäll’s speech.

– A person is arrested for assault. The plaintiff is said to have been pushed and is not seriously injured, but was hurt, says police spokesperson Angelica Forsberg.

When the police arrived at the scene, the counter-protesters had already left, but shortly afterwards the police were able to stop several cars with suspects in them.

– We have several suspects for disturbing a public gathering. And we have seized a number of items, there is a suspicion of a violation of the Knife Act, says Forsberg.
