(Finance) – From the leaders of the printed press to the unusual roles of sports commentators. To take on the role of commentators for the Nitto ATP FinalsI am the journalist and tennis enthusiast Nicola Porro and Andrea Ruggieri, director of Il Riformistaguests in the Intesa Sanpaolo lounge at the Pala Alpitour, where they recounted, supported by the technical commentary of the journalist and sports commentator Ubaldo Scanagatta, the salient moments of the matches of the afternoon session, in particular the match between Daniil Medvedev and Carlos Alcaraz.
That of ‘unusual commentator‘ is an idea born last year when Intesa Sanpaolo invited the blind paralympic champion Daniele Cassioli to comment on the match from his particular perspective. “The thrill of doing a ‘commentary’, a strong word I would say – says Porro -, something I’ve never done, I enjoy it a lot because I’m passionate about tennis and for me it’s a unique experience. What I wanted to do is try to understand how to play, because seeing the strong ones play teaches you a lot. So I tried to learn more than commenting.” Inevitable, on this day, to also think about the home champion, Jannik Sinner.
“We are reliving what we experienced 20 years ago with Tomba in skiing – says Ruggieri -, we are all delighted to see a boy of such talent, brilliance and also such strong determination and mental balance climbing the world rankings. And he – he concludes – is the tip of the iceberg of a movement that has many protagonists.”
