Nintendo Switch 2: only 2 days left before an official presentation?

Nintendo Switch 2 only 2 days left before an official

Nintendo’s new console, potentially called Switch 2, is undoubtedly the video game event of the year. In development for several years, it has been the subject of countless leaks for several weeks, to the delight of fans.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is certainly the most anticipated game console in 2025. While its manufacturer has officially announced that the machine will be revealed to the general public by the start of the year, the latter continues to leak on the internet. After its design, which was published on social networks a few weeks ago as well as its accessories already on sale, the console reveals itself a little more every day. Here’s everything you need to know about the video game event of the year.

A refined and improved design

If Nintendo seems to be starting with a design similar to the first model for its new Nintendo Switch 2, some differences are still to be noted. The console seems to have much wider sticks, which seem more pleasant to handle. The directional cross buttons benefit from a little color. According to the latest information, the Joy-Con of the new Nintendo Switch 2 will have increased precision and better manufacturing in order to avoid the “drift” problem which affected many owners of the first model .

But what raises the most questions is the addition of a new button below the “HOME” button on the right of the console. It is difficult at present to know exactly the usefulness of this button as rumors abound on the internet. Some talk about a button to connect to an external screen while others talk about an eject button for Joy-Con controllers.

Concerning the Switch 2 dock, the size would be much smaller than for the first model. Finally, the new console would have two USB ports, while the first version only had one.

A motherboard that promises higher performance

In addition to the design, the motherboard of the Nintendo Switch 2 is also in the spotlight. This was shared in images on social networks.

Unlike the 2017 console, which had an NVIDIA Tegra X1, the Nintendo Switch of 2025 should integrate an NVIDIA Tegra 239 from the Orin family. This change induces a clear improvement in terms of performance, the first motherboard having 12 Cortex-A78AE cores, the second 2048 CUDA cores.

Rumors estimate that the Switch 2 will be able to run games in 4K and 30 FPS (Image Per Second). It could also include ray tracing, which perfectly transcribes the effects of light, shadow and reflections. Despite these major developments, the console should not surpass the PlayStation 5 or the Xbox Series S/X in terms of power.

AI at the center of the system

Thanks to a patent filed by Nintendo in July 2023 and revealed to the general public recently, new secrets surrounding the Switch 2 have been exposed. The document would imply the presence of a feature very popular with players in the console system.

This functionality would be nothing more and nothing less than image upscaling using artificial intelligence. Thanks to this mechanism, the console would be able to improve a given image resolution to another higher resolution, giving a more qualitative visual rendering for players. In fact, a simple 1080p could be optimized in 4K. Knowing that the Switch 2 is backwards compatible with the games of its big sister, it is likely that the latter will see their graphics significantly optimized.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is coming very soon

The leak appeared like a bolt from the blue on the internet. The Nintendo Switch 2, the most anticipated console in the world of video games, now comes with a release date. This was revealed by the Italian media UAGNAwhich draws its information from a reliable source, without us really knowing the identity of this source in question.

According to UAGNAthe Nintendo Switch 2 should be marketed in a few months, on Friday March 28, 2025. A date which coincides with that of the first Switch of the name, which was released on March 3, 2017.

According to rumors, Nintendo could take advantage of CES 2025 from Las Vegasevent which takes place from January 5 to 9, to officially present its next console. If this hypothesis is true, there are only a few days left before we know everything about the Switch 2.

All these leaks, which have dotted the networks for several days or even hours, should be confirmed in the days to come. CES 2025 Los Angeles could well lift the veil on all the mysteries surrounding the next Nintendo console.

15:44 – Nintendo denies CES 2025 leaks

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas was the scene of numerous leaks for the Switch 2. However, it seems that these are completely false. Through a press release shared by the Japanese newspaper CNETNintendo denies all the leaks that panicked the Internet last week. A position which surprises no one but which raises several questions: was the model of the Switch 2 seen at CES a misleading 3D model? Or is Nintendo struggling to keep the advantages of its console secret? An answer may come to us in a few days, with the Switch 2 potentially being announced this Thursday, January 16.

09:35 – An announcement from Nintendo in two days?

The Nintendo Switch 2 is long overdue, but perhaps not for much longer. Several sources are convinced that Nintendo’s next console will be revealed in two days, on January 16. Comments which were revealed by the leaker and podcaster “Nate the Hate” and confirmed by journalist Tom Warren, who works for The Vergeon X.

12/01/25 – 09:28 – Pro controllers leak in images!

If you were wondering what the Switch 2 Pro controllers will look like, here they are in pictures! User X shared images taken on the fly from a textbook on social media. We see several models of Pro controllers, but also black Joy-Cons set with colored LEDs. These images should nevertheless be observed with suspicion, because nothing confirms whether they are truly Nintendo products.

11/01/25 – 2:21 p.m. – A trailer for the Switch 2 is released… and it’s pretty special

Looking for any new information on the Switch 2 means confronting countless false information. While some are clearly identifiable, others hide their game better. On X, users multiply misleading images and questionable data. The trailer below, perfectly produced, seems straight out of Nintendo studios. With a length of around two minutes, the video presents the main advantages of the next Big N console. Joy-Stick adorned with LEDs, magnetic Joy-Con, 1080p screen…

Everything seems real, until the arrival of a final feature, Smell-o-vision, which allows you to smell the smells of a game, for more immersion. The trailer ends with a fall that couldn’t be more surprising.

11/01/25 – 09:26 – An immediate out of stock for the Switch 2? A financial analyst speaks…

After the Nintendo Switch, which has accumulated more than 141 million sales since its release in 2017, Nintendo’s next console risks wreaking havoc. An American financial analyst specializing in video games, Mat Piscatella, spoke about the possible figures for the Switch 2. On the social network Bluesky, he estimated that the console would sell 4.3 million units in 2025, a feat which raises a major problem.

The financial analyst fears a stock shortage from the launch of the Switch 2, over a period of several months. Unlike the PS5 and the Xbox Series For sure, the Switch 2 will sell like hotcakes.

Seeing as how an announcement appears to be coming soon (but who knows) – I have Nintendo’s next hardware device selling 4.3 million units in the US in 2025 (assuming 1H launch), accounting for approximately 1/3rd of all video game console hardware units sold in the year (excluding PC Laptops).
