Nintendo has made a deal for The Legend of Zelda movie. According to a tip Jeff Sneider took, Univarsal is said to be in the process of making a deal with Nintendo to shoot a Legend of Zelda movie.
The Super Mario Bros., which had great success in Nintendo’s film industry. after the movie The Legend of Zelda movie it’s coming too. It looks like Nintendo has decided on its next big movie project. The game series, released in 1986, follows our hero Link, who fights to save Princess Zelda and defeat the main enemy, Ganon, in the magical realm of Hyrule.
Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of Mario and Zelda, told the Japanese newspaper Nihon Keizai Shimbun that after The Super Mario Bros. Movie’s $1.3 billion box office success, there was no doubt that Nintendo would make new movies.
Despite the success of The Legend of Zelda over the years, a movie adaptation never came out of the big studios. According to a tip Jeff Sneider took, Univarsal is said to be in the process of making a deal with Nintendo to shoot a Legend of Zelda movie. Sneider had this to say about the upcoming Zelda movie on The Hot Mic podcast:
“I was told that Universal actually made a “big deal” with Nintendo for The Legend of Zelda. Zelda looks like the next big Illumination-Nintendo franchise we’ve all been waiting for. From the information I’ve been told it’s going to happen,” he said.
Sneider also claims that Universal paid a good amount of money for The Legend of Zelda and that Nintendo knew the value of this upcoming project after the success of The Super Mario Bros. Sneider said that Nintendo and Universal will not rush to present the Zelda project correctly and well, and will move towards some more changes and freedom in the Link character.
It looks like we’ll have to wait a while to see what Nintendo’s plans are. While fans want more popular Zelda games like Twilight Princess and Breath of the Wild to get a movie adaptation, it’s the most likely that the movie will be inspired by the first game.
