Nintendo secures trademarks in Europe, giving fans hope that PokéParks will open here soon

Nintendo secures 3 trademarks in Europe. Will you be able to play Pokémon GO in PokéParks soon?

What is a PokéPark? A PokéPark is an amusement park that is primarily about Pokémon. Here you will find all sorts of attractions designed in the style of your favorite Pokémon. You can find Pokémon throughout the facility and have a powerful Pokémon experience.

What is a trademark? With a registered trademark, a company secures the right to use the registered trademark and protects it against use by other companies. This is one of the first steps before a company releases a new product or something similar.

Nintendo Europe has now registered 3 trademarks in Europe to protect them. These are the names PokéPark Kalos, PokéPark Paldea and PokéPark Galar, as Serebii reports on X.

Following last week’s announcement that a new Pokémon Park called PokéPark Kanto would be opening in Japan, this could indicate that Nintendo has similar plans in Europe as well.

PokéParks planned in France, Spain and the United Kingdom?

Where could these PokéParks open? While there is no official information from Nintendo on the matter yet, there is of course already speculation about where these parks might open.

There is speculation that the Kalos and Paldea PokéParks could open in Spain and France, as these regions serve as a rough template for the corresponding in-game regions. The United Kingdom could serve as the location for the PokéPark Galar, as a special trademark has been registered for this very term.

Will PokéParks definitely exist in Europe? So far the only thing that is certain is that the relevant trademarks have been registered. However, this does not necessarily mean that PokéParks will ever come to Europe. It could also be that the names were only registered as placeholders without there being any concrete plans.

However, PokéParks in Europe would be a nice thing for trainers and fans in Europe, as the barrier to visiting the parks here is still significantly lower than for visiting Japan.

What do you say to that? Would you be happy about PokéParks in Europe? Would you visit her? If you’re still looking for local events, check out what events are coming to Pokémon GO in December.
