Nintendo players get “Call of duty” for ten years

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The game series is currently not available on Nintendo’s portable console Switch.

“Microsoft and Nintendo have now negotiated and signed a binding ten-year agreement to bring ‘Call of Duty’ to Nintendo players – on the same day as to Xbox – with all features and content,” Microsoft writes in a statement.

A similar agreement has been signed with graphics card manufacturer Nvidia, which has the Geforce Now streaming service. In Nvidia’s case, the agreement applies to all Xbox PC games as well as Activision Blizzard’s titles.

In both cases, Microsoft’s planned acquisition of Activision Blizzard, which is behind the enormously successful shooter series, goes through. The plans are currently being reviewed by various competition authorities worldwide.

The new developments can be seen in the light of the British competition authority CMA’s conclusions, as in a investigation ruled that Microsoft would profit from making games like “Call of duty” exclusive to Xbox and even suggested selling the game series to third parties in order not to block the acquisition plans.
