Nintendo also joined companies such as Sony, Microsoft, CD Project, Apple and McDonald’s and stopped all its activities in Russia.
Within the framework of the sanctions imposed on Russia, many global brands are withdrawing from the country. Nintendo also joined them.
Nintendo also stopped its export to Russia
Nintendo has announced that it is suspending all exports to Russia for the foreseeable future, joining several major video game companies that left the country after Moscow invaded neighboring Ukraine.
As Aljazeera reported, Nintendo stated that its decision was due to “volatility surrounding the logistics of shipping and distribution of physical goods.” This move comes after the suspension of eShop payments in Russia and the swift decision to delay Advance Wars 1+2: Reboot Camp.
While the game companies are withdrawing from Russia one by one, it should not be too difficult to predict what the move of the game lovers in Russia alone will be against this situation. For the original usage level, which was overcome with difficulties, many companies made the highest possible discounts, accustoming the game lovers to the benefits of the original use. However, after these moves, the use of copy games in the country will increase again.
In a similar move, Sony Interactive Entertainment suspended PlayStation Store operations and the launch of Gran Turismo 7 in Russia. He also donated $2 million “to support the victims of this tragedy” to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and Save the Children.
It is not yet clear whether Nintendo will make such a donation. But considering that it follows the others, it seems possible for the company to announce a donation campaign in a short time.
