EVO 2023 was an opportunity for Capcom to unveil some cookie for Street Fighter 6, including a rather unexpected partnership. The Japanese publisher has teamed up with Paramount and Nickelodeon to introduce the Ninja Turtles into the game through new costumes. Starting August 8, 2023, Street Fighter 6 players will be able to customize their avatar with new TMNT gear and emotes, select and equip new Titles, send TMNT stickers in the comms tool, customize their virtual phone and camera frames, and even transform their custom avatar into their favorite turtle in World Tour and Battle Hub. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration is the second partnership for Street Fighter 6 that previously worked with the Onitsuka Tiger brand when the game launched.
But that’s not all, Capcom took advantage of EVO 2023 to announce the arrival of AKI, a brand new character in the franchise, who will be the 20th playable character on the roster. She is distinguished by her hairstyle, which represents the hats of old Japanese peasants, but also her nails which serve as sharp blades. We don’t know too much about his combat techniques, as Capcom is waiting for another moment to reveal his gameplay to us. We bet for a style close to the ancestral samurai…
