A 35-year-old man is sentenced to nine years in prison for attempted murder, reports Göteborgs-Posten.
The incident happened outdoors in central Gothenburg this summer, when the man stabbed another man in connection with a drug deal. The victim received several stab wounds in the open street, but was able to get to a nearby square where he received help.
The perpetrator is previously unpunished and was identified with the help of surveillance cameras in connection with his withdrawal of money for the drug purchase. Via card information, he was able to be arrested in his home in Småland after a few weeks.
In addition to the prison sentence, the 35-year-old must pay damages of SEK 283,000.
