Nine soldiers have been killed after a helicopter crashed in the northern region of Bolivar in Colombia on Monday, authorities said.
The crash happened in connection with the helicopter being about to drop off new forces for an ongoing operation against a drug cartel in the region, writes the country’s president Gustavo Petro in a post on X.
It is not clear what caused the crash.
