The nine savages will continue to stand behind the local election program but will not do so as members of the Social Democrats in Botkyrka. Marcus Ekman, the chairman of the municipal council who holds the highest office in the municipality, and Robert Aslan who is chairman of the culture and leisure committee are two of those who are now becoming political savages.
“We are and remain social democrats, but can no longer be part of the dysfunctional local party organization characterized by crony corruption,” write the nine political savages
C was ruled out – that was the final straw
The background, according to the letter writers, is the turbulence around ABF’s leisure centers in the spring of 2022. This weekend, the Center Party was excluded from the majority government, and the letter writers emphasize that it follows a pattern: “all those who stood up for the decision to close the recreational centers and freeze the financial support to the student union ABF have had to leave their assignments in the party or the municipality”.
The Center Party’s municipal councilor Dag Ahlse was the one who made the formal decision to close the recreation centers after it emerged that serious criminals were staying at the recreation centers. He was then vice-chairman of the culture and leisure committee.
S has ruled for three decades
The Social Democrats have governed Botkyrka for nearly 30 years. After all the turbulence with internal battles that have been in the party for the past 1.5 years, with the power struggle between the chairman of the municipal board Emanuel Ksiazkiewicz and former chairman Ebba Östlin and now the exclusion of the Center Party, the Moderates want to see if there is still an opportunity to govern the municipality. The Social Democrats have a total of 24 mandates in the municipal council.
